Stage fright and how to overcome it- A guide for a good presentation

Everyone who was or is in school and had to do some sort of presentation, knows how frightening it can be to stand in front of a group of people and talk.

Here are some tips on a good presentation and becoming more confident in such a situation.

The key element for a good presentation is: preparation.
You may, if you will, take some helping flashcards with you on stage, but don’t write your entire presentation on them. This will only confuse you and you will get stuck and panic when you don’t follow the sentences.
So: Use key-words, plan your cards in an organized way and prevent lots of words. Here, the key is simplicity.

Make yourself feel comfortable on stage
For the audience members it can get very annoying when the lecturer is nervous.
Signs of nervousness: Standing as stiff as a board, pulling on your clothes, waving around nervously with your arms…
try to become acquainted and aware of your surroundings. Continue reading Stage fright and how to overcome it- A guide for a good presentation

Why I like traveling so much!

I have always loved traveling. This is not surprising, as my first plane ride took place when I was only 6 months old. In this text I would like to convince you that traveling, though often very expensive, is worth the money and effort. I remember my first long flight to Asia very well (I was 4 years old). I was scared and didn’t totally understand what was happening. But when I got out of the plane a new and very different world lay before me. From that moment on was hooked.  I wanted to see the world, wanted to visit the undiscovered. Continue reading Why I like traveling so much!

Bullying

Today, I want to talk about the topic „bullying” because I think it is a very important one and I want you all to understand what problems it can cause and I want to motivate you to fight against this enormous problem.

I´m pretty sure that all of you know what bullying is, so I think there is no need to explain it. I for myself experienced a lot of bullying in primary school. Until now I still don´t know why I was bullied. After two years I decided to change school. In the new school everything went fine for me, I was even popular and I had a lot of friends. I was not the one who got bullied anymore, but there was this other girl called Selina who had to go through hell. As stupid as I was, I did not even try to help her or to be friends with her, no I was one of the bullies. I knew what it felt like to bullied, what pain and struggle it is but I was afraid that it could happen to me again so I followed the crowd. Now I regret what I did, I really do! My message after all these experiences is to treat people the way you want to be treated yourself. Continue reading Bullying

The death penalty, also called capital punishment, is when a government or state executes someone, because they have committed a serious crime. Executions have become rarer in recent years but still a third of the world´s countries have laws that allow capital punishment (e.g Japan, China, Iran, United States, Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, India, Singapur, Indonesia, Thailand etc.) Continue reading Death Penalty

Making your own music

To make your own music can mean a lot of things. Whether you are a professional piano player or just hit a beat on your desk in school. At the end it is all more or less the same. You’re creating something yourself. It can be stored by writing it down or it just lasts for a short period of time. Either of those have their advantages, but in both ways you will really enjoy it. To get started you can get yourself a little drum. It’s available on the internet and not at all expensive. Just put on some music and let the rest happen by itself.

I for myself, play the drums. For me it is perfect instrument, because I’m more the rhythm kind of person. If you know the basics of any instrument you can really make every piece of music your own. Continue reading Making your own music
