Have you ever spent a day without lying?

How often do you lie?

If you lie, why do you do it?

Or when?

People lie every day. The most common lie is when someone’s asking you how you are and you’re answering that you’re fine. But the truth is that you are tired, exhausted, your head hurts and you’re hungry. But you still say that you are fine because that’s more polite. But is lying polite?

On average, we lie 3 times per every 10 minutes of conversation. 60% of us can’t speak 10 minutes without lying at least once. But most lies are harmless like “Nice haircut”. Continue reading Have you ever spent a day without lying?

What’s wrong with eating Schillerlocken, Smoked Salmon or Smoked Dogfish?

Over the summer I read a lot about all the fish living in the oceans, especially about sharks. They are such interesting creatures, and when I read that humans just kill them off one by one, I was utterly devastated. So when my teacher proposed the idea of writing about something I wanted to tell people all around the world, I decided this was one of the main topics I wanted to write about.

Humans have done so many evil things over the centuries. We all know that. There have been so many species extinct, or facing the threat of extinction. I could write millions of pages, use the most extravagant words, and I would not be able to come even close to describing all the horrors our planet and its nonhuman inhabitants must go through.

Almost everywhere there is a huge but still growing demand for products that come from the sharks. Continue reading What’s wrong with eating Schillerlocken, Smoked Salmon or Smoked Dogfish?

Vegan Diet

Vegan Diet and Lifestyle

For many people being a vegan is more a lifestyle than just a diet, also ethical reasons play an important factor, yet a lot of people become vegan because of a matter of health.

There are many disputes when you talk about the definition of a vegan and the comparison to a vegetarian. Vegans do not eat anything that is of animal origin. Vegans don’t eat honey, dairy products or eggs, which on the other hand vegetarians would eat. Normally vegans even forgo animal based products like clothing (wool, leather) or cosmetics (that have been tested on animals), however many vegans only concentrate on the vegan diet. Get On Your Feet

When you’re a kid and things go wrong, your mum or dad or some other relative does their best to sort it out, give you a hug, remind you you’re doing OK, just a little of back up and get you back on your feet. Because good parents back off slowly as you get older anyway. They know that if they don’t you’ll never learn to get back on your feet after a knock. And you do have to be able to get yourself back on your feet. Let’s take a further look at it. Continue reading Get On Your Feet

Why you should use natural cosmetics

In this post I want to tell you why you should take a little bit more time to read through the labels of cosmetic products and what chemicals you should especially avoid.

Using chemical cosmetics can lead to bad health. Many people want to lead a healthy lifestyle. They start to eat more vegetables and do more sports but not too many people consider the fact that also using the right cosmetic products can make you healthier. Several chemicals are found in cosmetics and our bodies absorb about 60 percent of what we put on our skin. The chemicals then can enter our blood stream, which can lead to cancer, acne, allergies, eczema and hormone disruption. Using cosmetics containing hormone disrupting chemicals is especially dangerous for teenagers as they are developing at this age. Continue reading Why you should use natural cosmetics

What does it take to get the driver’s license for a moped?

Wouldn’t it be cool if you could ride your scooter to school or to appointments without always depending on your parents or public transport? Here I am going to tell you what you need, in order to do that.

Basically you can get the moped driver’s license from the age of 16 but you can even get it a bit earlier, if your parents sign a form which says that they are ok with you getting it at the age of 15. You can start taking lessons half a year before your 15th birthday (14 and a half). If you have passed the theoretical test and the practical hours the earliest you can get the license is on your 15th birthday.

You have to take 6 hours of the theoretical courses, 8 practical hours with the moped and two out of the 8 hours are spent on the road.

Now more about the test itself:

Lucky you, you only have to take a theoretical test where you have to get at least 80% right (19 out of 23) to pass. There is no test for the driving, but if you are very bad and insecure during those two hours on the road you are most likely to have to repeat them.

Of course taking the driver’s license is not  free. It is actually quite expensive. Usually you need to pay 179€ but the cost varies depending on where you do it. Another 60€ have to be paid to get the final driver’s license plus an additional 10 euros for the study materials. You get 5 euros back if you return the study materials. For registration you need your birth certificate, your passport and 2 passport photos, then you are good to go.

Don’t forget to ride carefully once you are out on the roads.
