Lets go White Sox

Now it’s finally come! The MLB (Major League Baseball) season has started! But what does this mean to the Chicago White Sox?

The White Sox won five games straight from April 23 to April 27, making the Blue Jays look old, before loosing back-to-back games in Batlimore on the 28th and 29th. But, Chicago came back in the final two match ups of the series, scoring a slim 8-7 victory on the last Saturday and a confidence-boosting win on Sunday. So, yeah, Chicago lost twice last week, but they also came back in a big way. All together I think that this will be a great season for the Chicago White Sox. Last year they came fourth but I think that they even have a chance of getting third this season.

Of course, we don’t know how the season will end for the Sox, but for now keep on shouting: ” White Sox, White Sox, go,go, go,go”

Are you a big Sox fan as well?

The best vacation of your life

Today I’m going to tell you about all the benefits of a cruise. I was on a cruise once in my life and am planning on going on one this summer again. It was the best vacation I’ve ever had.

First of all, many people are scared to go on a cruise because they are afraid that the ship might sink. That’s absolute nonsense. Think about it… How many accidents happen involving cars daily and how often do you hear of an accident on a cruise ship? See? You don’t need to worry about this just because the Titanic sank. And anyway, something horrible could happen at any time, no mater if you’re at home or on vacation. Continue reading The best vacation of your life

Bully or Victim?

I bet every one of us has seen someone being bullied. But did we actually do something to help?

When I was in kindergarten there was a girl who never played with the others. She didn’t have friends. Soon some boys started laughing at her and saying mean things to her. During the following weeks the situation got worse! They started stealing her shoes and jackets but none of the adults noticed anything. However a lot of kids, including me, saw what the girl was going through but no one did anything to help her. Continue reading Bully or Victim?

WHY YOU HAVE TO READ: THE DIARY OF ANNE FRANK

SUMMARY

On Anne’s thirteenth birthday, her parents gave her a diary. She was very excited to have something where she could write down her secret thoughts. Even though she had a rich social life, she felt misunderstood by everyone she knew. So she started to write her diary to a imaginary girl named Kitty. Can you see time?

As you might have learned from my first post, I like spending time on the Internet, especially on YouTube. As I was scrolling through ‘Popular on YouTube’ recently, a video called ‘Can you hear colors?’ from ‘Good Mythical Morning’ caught my attention. That’s how I found out about the phenomena called synesthesia.

Synesthesia is when one sense is automatically connected to another in your brain. For example when you hear the word ‘book’, you taste chicken, or when you see the number 3, you think of it as green. Only 1 in 2000 people have synesthesia and they are mostly women and left-handed. There are about 60 different types of synesthesia, but only a few cases could be well studied by scientists and doctors. Continue reading Can you see time?

Flying over the TOP

Obviously different, maybe a little crazy but definitely amazing, that’s the duo consisting of Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun. Tyler is the crazy vocalist, he can sing like you wouldn’t believe and Josh plays the drums like he’s been doing it forever. These two formed the band in 2009 and called it 21 Pilots. Tyler also plays the piano and occasionally the ukulele. Most of their songs they write together. These two can be so adorable together!

I especially love Josh’s hair at the moment since he has dyed it red to match the album cover which is so cool. Fun fact: He did it himself! Continue reading Flying over the TOP

Exchange Trips: My trip to France

In my school, we do an exchange every year of upper school. They are usually a week long. Every student is assigned an exchange student, with whom they will have to be staying. Depending on the host families and students, a trip can turn out good or bad. This makes it a very important decision, but it´s usually difficult to choose someone out of a group of people you don´t know.

The main reason these exchanges are organized is to give us students the chance to speak the language we learn with people who actually speak it as their mother tongue. It´s a great opportunity to see for yourself how well you can communicate in another language. Continue reading Exchange Trips: My trip to France

How Coca-Cola affects your body

I personally like Coca Cola very much but it’s only good for you if you don’t drink it too often.
Besides the fact that it contains tons of sugar and caffeine, one can of Cola contains the total amount of sugar you need in one day, its ingredients can wreak havoc on your body. An hour after drinking the beverage, a sugar crash will begin, causing drowsiness. In addition, your body will want to expel all the water from the Cola by urinating, along with the nutrients that are important for your health. Regular consumption of the main ingredients in Coke, fructose, corn syrup, refined salts and caffeine, can lead to higher blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes and obesity. Student Exchanges

Every year students from different countries come to my school: Spaniards, French, Russians, Americans and Swiss. Most of them are between 14-17 years old. Also our students are allowed to travel to the countries of their exchange partners. They go on wonderful trips to Kansas City, Minnesota, the South of Spain, Lake Tahoe, Paris, Barcelona, Rennes, St. Petersburg and Rome (even though this is not a real exchange). But why do we need an exchange? Continue reading Student Exchanges
